Professor Yannis A. Mylopoulos is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company “ATTIKO METRO S.A.” and the ex-Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, (2010-2014), member of the Board of Greek Rectors’ Conference and the Greek representative in the Board of European Universities Association (EUA).
He has been teaching and conducting research in the area of sustainable development for the environment at the Dept. of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, since 1990 and has been the head of the Division of Hydraulics & Environmental Engineering during the period 2008–2010.
He has more than 30 years experience in the areas of Integrated Water Resources Management and Engineering and Sustainable Development for the Environment. He has been involved in a big number of applied research projects funded by the European Commission and Greek GO’s and NGO’s, in most of them as scientific responsible.
He has published more than 120 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He acted as a secretary of the Water Resources Management section of IAHR, (2004 – 2007) and as a member of the editorial board of the IWRA’s journal “Water International”.
